How can i Install IIS ( Internet Information Services ) on my Windows XP ???

IIS helps organizations increase Web site and application availability while decreasing system administration costs.You can easily install Microsoft’s web server, IIS ( Internet information services ) for free from the Windows XP Pro installation CD. Following steps will clearly explain you How can i Install IIS on my windows XP.

1) Place your Windows XP professional CD in CD- Rom drive. If you Dont have XP cd then download XP service pack 2 installation file from softwarepatch. Extract the content of the file into a folder using WinRar.
2)Now click on start menu and open control panel.
3)Double click on Add and Remove programs to open.
4)Click Add/Remove Windows Components to install IIS .
5)Now click on IIS ( Internet information services ) to run in your system.

6)In Internet Information Services (IIS), select the check boxes for SMTP Service and World Wide Web Service, and then click OK.
7) In Windows Component selection, ensure that the Internet Information Services (IIS) check box is selected, and then click OK to install the components that you selected.

You can check your home page in your web browser by just typing “http://localhost” without qoutes in brower.
