How to remove blue background behind desktop icons
How to get rid of blue background behind the desktop icons. I hope this is the most irritating thingy which makes you so irked, but its a silly problem which can be rectified which you dint hope to be so.
Well you can find so many methods on the internet to remove blue background behind the desktop icons but you may not find the exact procedure or method to eliminate the blue image behind the icons. In addition to this you can change the color of the background as you wish.This method is applicable all on XP and on any further addition of xp operating systems.
coming to proedure, there are two methods which can rectify your problem
First Method
Right click on My computer>>Properties>>Advanced Tab>>Settings(Visual effects,Processor..)
>> Under Visual effects Tab, uncheck use drop shadow and clik ok and save these settings and restart your processor
Second Method
1.Right click on My computer>>Properties>>Advanced Tab>>Settings(Visual effects,Processor..)>> Under Visual effects Tab, select for best performance and save these settings
2. Right click on Desktop >> Properties>> Appearances tab >> Advanced
you’ll find a item dropdown box , your default option will be Desktop and color will be blue
it depends on you to change the color of the icon background or not well to remove the blue back ground just scroll down the item dropdown box and again set to Desktop as a default option and save these settings and exit the windows
This could Help you to rectify your desktop

Oh my goodness, the second one worked, have been trying everything since yesterday to fix the stupid color behind desktop icons. It went away!!!! thank you soooo much!!!!

I hv the unique solution for this…..if all attempts fails and u still face the issue…
Desktop> Right click> Properties> Desktop> Customize Desktop> Web> then u’ll see couple of web pages just uncheck all… and press OK…
this will definitely help u

hey….
read the first one….you have to ‘check’ the box saying use drop shadow. then the colour behind desktop icons is removed.

I tried this with mine and it didn’t work, but I did find a procedure
that did.
Right-click on your desktop and select “Arrange Icons By”
If “Lock Web Items on Desktop” has a check mark, left-click on it to
uncheck it.
If it’s not checked, left-click on it to add the check mark, then
right-click on desktop again and repeat to remove the check mark.
It’ll take a few seconds but your screen will flash and the blue
backgrounds will be gone. Not to mention, my desktop loads about 25
seconds faster now.
I had tried every suggestion offered on the Internet and this was the
only one that worked for me.
